I’m a photographic artist, creating work around the elusive search for truth, meaning, and purpose. At a young age I had a deep sense of social commitment with a strong desire to make a contribution to the world. When I was 17 years old, I received a camera as a birthday gift, a Kodak Disc. No autofocus, no metering; it was a basic point-and-shoot camera. Despite its simplicity, I spent endless hours experimenting and shooting tons of film as I could possibly afford. Photography is the perfect medium for me to express the emotions of my visual experience. In my work I attempt to isolate these forms by representational or abstract methods and present them to the viewer through the palette of visual elements.

I am fascinated by shape, form, tone and the symmetrical balance in the natural world. My art process is driven by an ever-present sense of urgency, a necessary purge of a concept until my inspiration is fully spent, and then I move on to another set of ideas.

As a photographic artist living a life of inquiry, I see the potential of photography and how it can align my inner and outer world. A life of inquiry is a life of a seeker, I use photography to help me to answer those questions. The stories I tell with my photographs help me visualize my thoughts, experiences and feelings. It helps me to make sense of the human condition, and my place and contribution to the world. In an effort to make sense of my metaphysical journey, photography offers me a way to explore my inner and outer world in my search for answers to the mysteries of life, and to express my vision.

As I travel physically and spiritually, my photographs are used to translate my experiences for the world to contemplate. Often, short essays and musings accompany these art pieces. It is my hope that you find some inspiration in my words as well because it all comes from an inner desire to express myself.
