My work challenges the viewer to pursue the sublime in spite of the limitations of human consciousness. The essential existential question, transcending identity and cultural boundaries: who are we and what is our significance in the cosmos? Engaging in a visual discourse of the spiritual dimension of the self is fraught with complexity, certitude, ambiguity, stillness, tumult, chaos, and serenity, personal and collective histories, biases, and experiences. Where we identify gaps in our purported understanding of spirituality, we can mine these undefined spaces for the emotional, or for the motif, to at least track that experience.
